Agnieszka Kozło – Katarzyna Ewa Sokołowska

The duet was founded in 1996 as the result of special interest of both pianist in chamber music and the variety of piano duet repertoire. At the beginning they were studying with prof. Maja Nosowska at the Fryderyk Chopin Music University in Warsaw. From 2001 to 2005 they were continuing their studies in mastreclass of prof. Hans-Peter Stenzl and prof. Volker Stenzl in Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock in Germany. They finished post-graduate studies and Konzertexam with special distinction.

Duet’s atristic development was influenced by such eminent artists like Alexander Tamir, Bracha Eden, Berndt Goetzke, Leonard Hokanson, Tomasz Herbut, Camerata Quartet.

Duet is a prize-winner of many music competitions:

1996 –International Piano Competition  Marcopoulo in Greece
(III prize – I and II was not awarded)
1999 – I prize and special prize for the best performance of Schubert’s composition at  XI International Schubert Competition for Piano Duos  in Jesenik (Czech Republic)
1999 – distinction at  I International Piano Duets Competition
in Bialystok (Poland)
2000 – final of  XVI International Chamber Music Competition
V. Bellini in Caltanissetta (Italy)
2003 – II prize at Valentino Bucchi International Competition
of the XX and XXI Century Music in Rome (Italy).
2004 – final of I International Piano Competition  in San Marino.
2005 – II round of  ARD Music Competition in Munich (Germany)

Artists enjoy a distinguished performing career giving recitals in Poland and most of European countries and Israel. They are invited to many festivals:

The broad range of repertoire contains compositions for 4 hands and 2 pianos from baroque until nowadays. The pianists premiered many contemporary compositions, some of them were composed espacially for them.

In result of special passion for French Music the artist recorded  a CD with repertoire of Fauré, Debussy, Ravel, Poulenc. In 2004 appeared the second CD containing Liebeslieder Walzer of Brahms, which was awarded with prestigious Fryderyk Prize. Several times, the duet was a scholar of Minister of Culture and Zonta International Fundation.

Both pianists are lecturers at the Fryderyk Chopin Music University and Secondary Music School in Warsaw. For many years, they have conducted chamber music and piano classes at the International Music Courses in Gluchołazy (Poland).
